Lisa BoydOriginally from Fort Worth, Texas, Lisa Laughlin Boyd studied art and Art History at Vanderbilt, in France and at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned a BFA and a MA in Art History from UT. She resides in Dallas and spends the summers in San Miguel de Allende. She paints in oil and pastel such subjects as landscapes, streetscapes, and portraits of old trucks, houses, and dogs as well as nudes and portraits.

She has exhibited professionally since 1996 at the Karen Mitchell Frank Gallery, the Norwood Flynn Gallery, ArtHouse, the Creative Arts Center, the Pastel Society of the Southwest, and the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the National Arts Club. She has painted in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado, New York, Maine, Wyoming, Canada, Mexico, Peru, France, Italy, Egypt, and India. She is inspired by the play of light and shadow in a landscape or on a manmade structure.

She paints from life, a fondness for plein air painting and sketching, and uses color liberally. She has studied with Sally Strand, Lorenzo Chavez, Gil Dellinger, Skip Whitcomb, Ned Mueller and Dan Rueffert and is grateful to all her creative and talented friends and teachers who have supported and encouraged her.
